Commercial interests, press officers and media deals form significant barriers to spontaneous encounters or open conversations. And it doesn’t stop at sports. The same trend is emerging in culture, politics and other fields, where communication is increasingly tightly controlled. How do you navigate these competing interests as a journalist?
